The Fire Inspectors Association of Nova Scotia (FIANS) is a provincial association that was founded in 1994 as a not for profit organization and represents individuals and organizations that are dedicated to saving lives and property through the prevention of fires.
As the weather moves to spring, FIANS is coming to the end of it’s first and only fast track Professional Education Programming (PEP) course offerings. The spring conference being held the week of May 3rd at the Inverary Inn will see the completion of the cycle. That being said, we will be running 4 courses in June for those that had conflicts at the fall 2025 and spring 2026 conferences.
The fast track programming has been extremely successfully and we are hoping to keep that momentum going as we move to the new PEP Level 1 programming which will start in September 2026. Details will be provided in the fullness of time on dates and location for the offerings through to June 2027.
Please sign up for the spring conference and / or the June course offerings at your earliest convenience. Forms for all are available on this website.
Finally, the new certification renewal programming is now in place for those who have recently acquired their Level 1 and / or Level 2 certification. Make sure to check out the details on the requirements on the appropriate tab contained in the website.
As an association we are always here for our members and others in the community to help better understand the fire inspection field. Please take the opportunity to explore our website and if you have any questions then please feel free to contact us at info@fians.ns.ca.
